Day 1: Transfer from Kampala to Lake Mburo National Park
Morning journey to Lake Mburo National Park with a brief stop at the Equator crossing in Masaka, arriving in the afternoon for lunch at the Lodge, a tranquil and exclusive hideaway within Lake Mburo National Park. Two hours of afternoon horseback riding or quad biking to observe animals up close, including zebras, impalas, elands, buffalo, oribis, and Defassa waterbucks. A sunset game drive for your enjoyment. Accommodation at Mihingo Safari Lodge (Lodge facility), Lake Mburo Safari Lodge (Mid Lodge facility), or Eagles Nest (Budget facility) for one night. Meal schedule: Lunch and Dinner.
Attention: Horse riding is exclusively available for guests of Mihingo Safari Lodge. If clients prefer to stay elsewhere, quad biking will be the alternative.
Day 2: Explore Lake Mburo National Park Wildlife Safari
Morning safari excursion. Lake Mburo National Park is distinguished for its populations of zebras, impalas, buffaloes, hippos, topi, and elands, as well as the uncommon shoebill, crested crane, pelicans, fish eagle, heron, and several aquatic avian species. Best time to visit Lake Mburo Lake National Park
The park is accessible throughout the entire year. Wildlife observation is exceptional throughout the year, and the access routes are impeccable. The route from Kampala consists of a good tarmac road, followed by a well-maintained graded murram road that traverses the park.
In the arid periods from June to September and December to February, fauna congregate around water sources, particularly lakes and marshes, facilitating their visibility in substantial numbers. Numerous individuals also frequent the waterholes adjacent to the numerous lodges, making them visible from multiple locations. During the wet seasons of November to December and March to May, increased populations are observed in open valleys and grazing pastures as the grass flourishes.
