5-day Uganda flying gorilla and chimpanzee trekking safari

Following breakfast at your lodge, you will proceed to the Kibale National Park headquarters for a briefing regarding the chimpanzee tracking safari. A lead ranger will outline the guidelines to adhere to throughout the expedition before you venture into the Kibale forests in pursuit of the chimpanzees. Kibale Forest is home to twelve additional primate species alongside chimpanzees, including the olive monkey, L’Hoest monkey, baboons, white and black colobus monkeys, grey-cheeked mangabey, red colobus, blue monkeys, and pottos, which can be observed during treks in the forests of Kibale.

Chimpanzee tracking requires approximately 3-6 hours of pursuit, followed by 1 hour of observation, during which one can appreciate these lively beings as they traverse tree branches and gather fruits, among other activities. Following the adventure, you will return to the headquarters, meet your safari driver, and proceed to your accommodation for lunch. In the afternoon, you will embark on a 4.5-kilometer trek through Bigodi Swamp.

During the swamp walk, you will observe several avian species, including Hornbills, Turacos, Parrots, Cranes, and Kingfishers, as well as primates such as Black and White Colobus, Red Colobus, Red Tailed Monkey, Grey Cheeked Mangabey, Olive Baboon, L’hoest Monkey, Vervet Monkey, and Blue Monkey. You will dine in the evening and spend the night at your lodge.
