Day 1. Arrival
Day 1 of 7 Days Gorilla tour and Wildlife Safari, upon your arrival at Entebbe Airport, your guide will warmly receive you and accompany you to your hotel in Kampala. Today, you will receive a comprehensive briefing regarding the entire journey.
Day 2. Travel to Queen Elizabeth National park
On Day 2 of the 7 days Gorilla tour and Wildlife Safari, we will journey to Queen Elizabeth National Park. After enjoying a leisurely breakfast, you proceed to Queen Elizabeth National Park. We will make a brief halt at the equator village (Kayabwe) for those who are interested in taking photographs. The equator is an imaginary line on the world map that extends from east to west and serves as a dividing point between the southern and northern hemispheres of the Earth.
During your journey, you will also traverse the Ankole region, where you may get the opportunity to observe the distinctive long-horned Ankole Cattle. Upon arrival, you will go on a boat excursion around the Kazinga channel. The water stream connecting lakes Edward and George is renowned for hosting the highest density of hippos globally. It is commonly referred to as the “hub of ecology” because of the numerous wildlife and bird species documented around its shores. Additional fauna to observe include crocodiles and monitor lizards. Day 3. Full day game drive and visit Salt Lake
Wake up early for a morning game drive in order to seek out the creatures that are active at dawn. Currently is the optimal period for observing carnivorous animals such as lions, leopards, and spotted hyenas. Additional mammal species that can be observed include buffaloes, waterbucks, elephants, kobs, warthogs, and others. Day 4 Chimpanzee tracking in Kyambura Gorge
On the fourth day of 7 Days Gorilla tour and Wildlife Safari, we will engage in chimpanzee tracking, a unique and unforgettable experience. You will have the option to track the chimps in either the Kyambura Gorge, Maramagambo Forest, or Kalinzu Forest. This activity can be physically demanding but highly fulfilling. Depending on the location of the chimps, you can expect to walk for one to four hours. Once you encounter them, you will have a full hour to observe and interact with the chimpanzees. Their behavior can offer insights into the behavior of our early ancestors.
Day 5. Transfer to Bwindi forest national park
Day 5 of 7 Days Gorilla tour and Wildlife Safari, you will enjoy an early morning breakfast, followed by a game drive in this specific area of the park. After that, you will proceed to journey to Bwindi Impenetrable Forest. We traverse the southern region of Queen Elizabeth National Park (Ishasha), renowned for its population of lions that exhibit the unique behavior of climbing trees. If fortunate, you will have the opportunity to get an image of the lions that climb trees. These felines have a propensity to ascend trees during the afternoon hours to be determined.
The Bwindi Impenetrable forest harbors a majority of the world’s remaining mountain gorillas, along with several other primates and over 380 species of birds. Upon arrival, you will check in to your lodge in the late afternoon to unwind and rest.
Day 6. Gorilla tracking in bwindi forest national park
Following a substantial breakfast provided by your lodging, we gather at the designated location for gorilla tracking to receive a concise briefing. Subsequently, you venture into the bwindi impenetrable forest with your prepared meal, in pursuit of locating the critically endangered mountain gorillas. Prepare yourself for a duration of walking ranging from 45 minutes to 5 hours, depending on the location of the gorillas on that particular day. Upon viewing them, you will be granted a complete hour to engage with gorillas before returning to your lodging. If you come back early, you will have the opportunity to witness cultural dances performed by the local people before chilling at your lodge. Day 7 Transfer Back to Entebbe
Following our morning meal, we commence our extensive drive to Entebbe in order to board your return aircraft. At the conclusion of the 7-day gorillas and wildlife safari, you will be transported to either the airport or a hotel of your choosing in Entebbe or Kampala.
