Detailed Itinerary for 6 Days Murchison Falls and Ssese Islands

Day 1: Pickup and transfer to Murchison Falls National Park, Rhino Tracking and Ascent to the Summit of the Falls

Your driver-guide will get you from your hotel and depart for Murchison Falls National Park. The park hosts the highest density of wildlife, including four of the Big Five game species and many birds. A game drive in the park provides an intimate experience with many creatures, including giraffes, buffalos, lions, leopards, elephants, Uganda kobs, and elands. Experience a trek to the summit of Murchison Falls, followed by a boat excursion to the base of the falls for breathtaking vistas. Visit Ziwa Rhino Sanctuary in Nakasongola for rhino tracking. You will commence your journey to Murchison Falls National Park, arriving in the evening. Ascend to the summit of the falls for breathtaking vistas of the formidable cascade and its resounding roar. Evening meal and accommodation

Day 2 Game Drive + Boat Excursion & Departure

Rise early and embark on a morning wildlife drive across the park’s vast plains. Observe animals grazing and hunting in the vast savannahs before their diurnal repose. The animals you will observe include elephants, buffalo, giraffes, hippos, lions, leopards, waterbucks, Uganda kobs, elands, Jackson’s hartebeest, and warthogs, among others. Return to the lodge for a late breakfast and lunch. You will subsequently commence a launch cruise to the base of the formidable Murchison Falls, where you may appreciate picturesque vistas of the falls and observe aquatic fauna along the riverbanks. Travel to spend the night in Budongo Forest

Day 3: Chimpanzee tracking at Budongo Forest Reserve

The forest contains six groups of chimpanzees, with tracking commencing at 7:00 AM, as ranger guides lead participants in search of these remarkable primates, which share approximately 98% of their DNA with humans. During the tracking, you will observe many tree species, including mahogany, as well as monkeys, snakes, and numerous bird species, before transferring to spend the night in Masindi.

Day 4: Transfer to Ssese Islands

The morning journey to Entebbe (Nakiwogo landing site) and subsequent ferry ride will last three hours until arrival at Lutoboka landing location in Kalangala.

Proceed a little distance up the beach from the landing point to check into the hotel for dinner and overnight accommodation. If you enjoy music or social gatherings, there is typically club music accompanied by an abundance of beverages and fresh seafood.

Day 5: Ssese Island Excursion

Awaken to stunning vistas of the white sand beach on Ssese Islands. Depending on your preference, you may embark on a forest or nature walk in Lutoboka Central Forest Reserve. This medium-altitude forest encompasses 378 hectares and was designated as a protected area in 1948. Bird enthusiasts will appreciate the presence of over 300 avian species, along with numerous primates. After your excursion, return to the hotel for lunch and unwind on the white sand beach, where you may request to have your meal by the shore.

Day 6: Proceed to Kampala, Explore the Uganda Equator

Enjoy an early morning breakfast, check out of the hotel, and proceed to the ferry for a sail on Lake Victoria to Bukakata in Masaka. Subsequently, board a vehicle that will transport you back to Kampala, with a stop at the equator for lunch and photographs, as well as opportunities to purchase various Ugandan souvenirs before continuing to Kampala.
