Day 2: Transfer to Kibale Forest National Park

You are invited to join researchers and expert trackers on an African primate expedition into Kibale Forest, home to a substantial population of chimpanzees in East Africa.

Day 4: Transfer to Bwindi Forest National Park (gorilla trekking experience)

The 45-minute flight to Kisoro commences at Kasese Airport, accessible by a short drive. A comfortable vehicle will be prepared to transport you on a 1.5-hour journey to your accommodation upon your arrival in Kisoro. The journey travels through the Highlands, featuring uneven sections that enhance the journey’s excitement. Finally, you will arrive at the refuge that will function as your overnight accommodation. Refresh in your comfortable room and have a substantial supper before an enlightening evening. Day 5: Gorilla Trekking in Bwindi National Park

Your expedition with the primates of Africa ended in a profound and emotionally intense encounter yesterday. After a substantial breakfast, your Lodge, prepares for an extraordinary experience: hiking with the esteemed vet and conservationist Dr. Gladys Kalema.

You’ll head into the cloud-covered depths of Bwindi Impenetrable Forest, guided by experienced trackers. While crossing the pathways, the rustling of trees and the songs of diverse birds can be heard. Gradually, you advance towards the residence of an impressive gorilla family and the excitement intensifies. The forest’s majestic giants have finally appeared. Marvel at their daily activities, including searching for food, playing, and grooming one another. Observe the gentleness and power of their relationships, and you will perceive a deep connection with these remarkable creatures.

A subsequent meeting, occurring later in the day, illuminates Bwindi Forest’s extensive and distinguished human history. The Batwa are a native people that previously resided in the Buniga Forest; they can be encountered during your visit. Familiarize yourself with their culture, listen to their narratives, and comprehend their profound connection to the forest and the gorillas inhabiting there. This cultural interaction will enrich your African primate expedition by illuminating the complex relationship between humans and their natural environment. It is time to rest; therefore, return to your Lodge. Significant Observation: As indicated by its designation, Bwindi Impenetrable Forest is indeed impenetrable. Be prepared for all types of weather, including precipitation and cooler temperatures. Day 6: Journey to Volcanoes National Park in Rwanda

Embarking on a trek with lowland gorillas is an unforgettable adventure; therefore, refresh yourself with breakfast at your lodge, thereafter embarking on your African primates’ expeditions. You may encounter a distinct subspecies of gorilla—the eastern lowland gorilla—unlike the mountain gorillas observed earlier in Rwanda at Kahuzi-Biega National Park.
